Chicago AGBU Young Professional Committee Member Position
Position Description
The Chicago AGBU YP Committee member is responsible for creating and executing Armenian social, cultural and educational programs within the Greater Chicago Area.
Required Experience, Knowledge and Attitude
The ideal candidate will be creative, hard-working, committed to spend time regularly, meet deadlines and possess excellent communication skills. Candidate must be a young professional currently residing in the Greater Chicago Area and a dues paying AGBU member (can pay membership after joining committee).
Specific Position Duties:
- Minimum commitment of 1 year
- Learn committee goals and mission statement.
- Actively participate in committee work. Estimated time commitment can vary from 5 to 25 hours a month depending on your active assignments (e.g. attend meetings, gather information for an upcoming event, etc.).
- Volunteer and accept assignments and complete thoroughly and on time.
- Regularly participate in committee meetings and important related meetings (e.g. sub-committee meetings). Monthly meetings are held in the city, typically on Sunday afternoons from 3pm – 6pm.
- Stay informed about committee matters, prepare well for meetings and actively participate in meeting discussions.
- Maintain active communications with Committee Chair.
